Homeless World Cup
The Homeless World Cup is an annual event focused on helping to eliminate homelessness using the power of sport participation. Currently 73 nations participate.
The next event will be held in Mexico City in January 2027. And Canada plans to send a team. Participants are given a unique opportunity to join a team, represent Canada and potentially transform their own lives.
This is a cause that I (Mike Ellis, Founder of Sport Celebration) really can get behind. The event is just a part of the community building, skills and social development that athletes experience. It is an approach focused on real change in people's lives.
In member countries, the street soccer associations are the foundation. In Canada, the Canadian Street Soccer Association acts as lead for us. And there are chapters throughout the country.
What if we could do a little bit more for those who could really use the help ?
What if we could show off how thoughtful and generous Canadians can be ?
While we love the quality, excitement and intrigue of the world stars being on our front doorstep, we have an opportunity to assist others.
As part of our FanZone offer for Canada Day, Sport Celebration will donate $1 to a BC Chapter of the Canadian Street Soccer Association.
Let's make an impact by helping others to make an impact.
A fun way to see more about this great event, check out "The Beautiful Game" on Netflix.
